An Ode To Scrap

David Eckstein has decided to retire, apparently.  Or not.  Depends on who you choose to believe.  In fact, depending on which of the following turns out to be true, this post could be null and void:

The scrappiest player to don a San Diego Padres uniform since Eric Owens inspired those giveaway t-shirts with the streak of dirt on them.


And arguably the scrappiest Padre since the days of Bip Roberts.

Or perhaps even Timry Flanster.

Oh yeah, I went there.






What can I say?  I have a preference for scrappy players.  They make the game exciting.

Chicks may dig the long ball, but the Ghost digs dirt & grass stains on the uniform.
